The Sacrament of Holy Communion is the second of the sacraments of Initiation. It occurs only after receiving Baptism, and once the person has reached the age of reason (usually, around 7 years old) first Confession (the first sacrament of Penance) usually precedes the first reception of the Eucharist. Preparation for these Sacraments requires the completion of 2 years of religious education/PREP. For more information about preparation for these Sacraments contact. Confirmation, together with Baptism and Eucharist, form the Sacraments of Initiation that are all intimately connected. In the Sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized person is "sealed with the the Holy Spirit" and is strengthened to accept the challenge of becoming an adult member of the Body of Christ.
